Using vacuum casting inlay, among all cold inlay materials, only epoxy resin can achieve physical adhesion with the sample. Therefore, epoxy resin is preferred for vacuum inlay.
Different experimental requirements and samples require selecting different epoxy resins:
If the material is not sensitive to temperature and requires rapid sample preparation, it is more suitable to choose EpoQuick epoxy resin from QMAXIS, which can cure quickly at room temperature for 1-2 hours; Peak exothermic temperature 212° F/100 ℃; Shore hardness 80; Good transparency; Good shrinkage rate; The mixing ratio of resin and curing agent is 15:2.
If the general materials and general experimental purposes are selected, the general type EpoCure of QMAXIS can be used, and the curing time is 4-8 hours; Peak exothermic temperature 160° F/70 ℃; Shore hardness 82; Good transparency; The shrinkage rate is very good; The mixing ratio of resin and curing agent is 15:2.
The epoxy resin used for cold embedding has requirements for shelf life and storage conditions. After each use, the sealing cover should be tightly covered, and it is best to store it in a dark, dry place, and at room temperature; If placed in the refrigerator, it will effectively extend the shelf life.
