1、 Conduct a safety check before use.

Check the circuit: check whether the power line of the metallographic inlay machine is damaged and whether the power supply is normal.

Appearance inspection: Check the shell, protective cover, and upper protective cover of the metallographic inlay machine for deformation and damage, especially the upper protective cover. If the protective cover is deformed or damaged, there is a risk of the sample flying out and injuring people during the heating and pressurization process.

Check water supply and drainage: Check if the water supply is turned on and unobstructed. Check whether the drainage is safe and normal. The temperature of the discharged cooling water is very high and there is a risk of scalding. Be careful not to splash during drainage and stay away from or avoid personnel.

Check the embedded silo: The silo must not have deformation, and the top and bottom of the embedded silo must be parallel. If there are any problems, report for repair or replacement in a timely manner.

2、 There is no emergency stop button.

The metallographic inlay machine is not equipped with an emergency stop button. The metallographic inlay machine is basically static in operation and has a relatively closed structure, so it is not equipped with an emergency stop button. However, there are still several safety risks associated with the inlay machine.

Burn: The cooling water discharged by the inlay machine is above 100 ℃, which means there is a risk of scalding in the drainage pipeline. If water splashes out during drainage, it is more likely to cause burns. Due to the high water temperature, there is also a certain risk of water vapor, so be careful to avoid physical contact. When draining, try not to adjust or touch the drainage pipeline as much as possible. Some old inlay machines may have high shell temperatures, and attention should be paid to avoiding physical contact.

Crushing: When the sample or inlay is opened at a high temperature, there is a possibility of flying out and injuring people.

Squeeze: Be careful not to place your hands on the embedded silo or under the embedded cover. Do not operate with multiple people at the same time

3、 Pay attention to the safety of the sample.

The sample must meet the technical parameters and safety requirements required for metallographic inlay. Samples that cannot withstand both pressure and high temperature should not be hot-pressed and embedded. For specific pressure and temperature requirements, refer to the inlay material manual and equipment user manual.

The sample should not be a substance with safety hazards, nor should it be a flammable, explosive, volatile, toxic, or harmful substance, such as magnesium alloy, lithium alloy, combustible dust, etc.

4、 Close the protective cover.

The protective cover must be closed in place to prevent the sample from flying out and injuring people during heating and pressurization.

5、 Pay attention to observing whether the equipment is operating properly during use.

When using the equipment, pay attention to observing whether the operation is stable. If conditions permit, heating and pressurization can be monitored.

6、 Operation can only be carried out after cooling is completed.

After the inlay work is completed, the inlay silo and inlay blocks may still have a certain temperature. Although the possibility of the inlay flying out and injuring people is not high, it still needs to wait for the cooling to be completed before operation. At the same time, it can also avoid safety hazards caused by high temperature and sudden cooling of the inlay block (such as burns, fragmentation, etc.). After use, the water and power supply can be turned off.

7、 Do not touch the device with wet hands.

When operating the metallographic hot pressing inlay machine, there is basically no need to come into contact with water. Be careful not to touch the equipment with wet hands to prevent electric shock accidents. It is also beneficial to keep the equipment clean and dry.

8、 If you have any questions or special circumstances, you can refer to the manual or consult the manufacturer.

Of course, you can also learn from trained personnel.
