Getting started with a new machine and not being familiar with how to use it is a common occurrence for us. If you are not clear about the precautions before using the imported metallographic polishing machine from MetLab in the United States? I'll tell you!
Recently sold several METPOL– A fully automatic metallographic polishing machine, I always feel that the precautions before use should be popularized. Although users will receive systematic training after equipment installation and debugging, it is necessary to introduce new laboratory personnel during the graduation season. Therefore, I would like to introduce the MetLab imported metallographic polishing machine METPOL– Precautions before use of A.

1、 Before starting the metallographic polishing machine, it is necessary to check whether the circulating faucet is in an open state
Our samples usually require water cooling lubrication during the grinding and polishing stages. In order to prevent dry grinding of the sample and grinding medium caused by not opening the faucet, the high friction force and the generation of a large amount of heat can cause the sample to be worn and burned.

2、 Before starting the metallographic polishing machine, check whether the iron disc (Teflon) of the grinding disc replacement system is deformed, and whether the surface and edges of the magnetic disc are damaged
The grinding disc replacement system is composed of working aluminum discs, magnetic discs, and iron discs (Teflon). Sandpaper or polishing cloth is pasted on the iron discs (Teflon) and then adsorbed on the magnetic discs, forming a grinding and polishing system. The purpose is to obtain a flat and consistent sample surface with scratches. If the magnetic disc is damaged and the iron disc (Teflon) is not flat, it will cause the sandpaper or polishing cloth pasted on the iron disc (Teflon) to grind and polish the sample unevenly. In severe cases, if the magnetic disc is severely damaged or the magnetism is disregarded, it may cause the iron disc (Teflon) to move and misplace, damaging the sample and equipment.

3、 Before starting the metallographic polishing machine, check if the fixtures under the power head are loose
When the metallographic polishing machine is working, the passive force head of the sample is loaded and pressed onto the grinding disc. If the card on the power head is loose, the rotating fixture during polishing will cause the power head to swing, which can easily cause damage to media such as sandpaper or polishing cloth and the sample, and in severe cases, it can cause safety accidents.

4、 Before starting the metallographic polishing machine, check if the drainage port is blocked
A metallographic polishing machine that has been used for a long time. If the polishing bowl at the bottom of the grinding disc is not cleaned in a timely manner, the drainage port is blocked, and the accumulated water for a long time can cause abrasive particles, debris, impurities, etc. to seep into the bearing, corrode the bearing, and cause abnormal noise or damage during equipment operation. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly inspect and clean it to keep the drainage port smooth.
The above points indicate that we are using METPOL– imported from the United States; Before using the fully automatic metallographic polishing machine, precautions should be taken. If you encounter any problems while using this machine, please feel free to contact our pulse detection service engineer, who can provide you with professional guidance and solutions!
