Precautions:
1. Iron is prone to corrosion, and using water-based polishing and cooling fluids can cause corrosion pits. Instead, use oil-based polishing and cooling lubricants.
2. If the surface quality of the sample cut is good, only one layer of metallographic sandpaper is used.
3. After completion, immediately rinse and blow dry with anhydrous alcohol.
4. At the end of each step, clean the sample, hands, fixtures, polishing disc, and polishing machine chassis thoroughly to prevent particle contamination.
